Coast Guard Office of Commercial Vessel Compliance updates fishing vessel safety website

Website Update Notification:

The Coast Guard Office of Commercial Vessel Compliance, Fishing Vessel Safety Division (CG-CVC-3) has updated the Coast Guard's Fishing Vessel Safety website found at: https://www.dco.uscg.mil/Our-Organization/Assistant-Commandant-for-Prevention-Policy-CG-5P/Inspections-Compliance-CG-5PC-/Commercial-Vessel-Compliance/Fishing-Vessel-Safety-Division/CVC-3-Home-Page/.

As required by Section 11322 of the Coast Guard Authorization Act of 2022, a new section has been added to improve communications with the fishing industry. Under the “Fishing Vessel Safety Resources” tab is information related to fishing vessel safety; dockside examinations; hazards; training; regulations; outages of the Rescue 21 system in Alaska; and resources such as U.S. Coast Guard local notice to mariners and other maritime information such as military exercises in the exclusive economic zone or other activities that may impact recreational or commercial activities.
