National Towing Safety Advisory Committee Public Meeting

The National Towing Safety Advisory Committee and its subcommittees will conduct a series of meetings over 2 days in Annapolis, Maryland, to review and discuss matters relating to shallow-draft inland navigation, coastal waterway navigation, and towing safety. These meetings will be open to the public.

Coast Guard extends comment period by 30 days for the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking: Cybersecurity in the Marine Transportation System

The Coast Guard is extending the comment period for the recently published Notice of Proposed Rulemaking in the Federal Register focused on establishing minimum cybersecurity requirements, for an additional 30 days through May 22, 2024.

U.S. Coast Guard, BSEE and BOEM Sign Agreement to Advance Safe and Environmentally Sustainable Energy Development

The U.S. Coast Guard recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with two Department of the Interior bureaus: the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement and the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management to strengthen interagency cooperation in the advancement of safe and environmentally sustainable non-mineral (renewable) energy development, including offshore wind, on the Outer Continental Shelf.
