SAN DIEGO — The crew of Coast Guard Station San Diego, Coast Guard Cutter Sea Otter and Coast Guard Cutter David Duren apprehended 18 aliens in two separate interdictions off the coast of San Diego, Sunday.
At 6:50 p.m., crewmembers aboard a Station San Diego small boat intercepted a 25-foot cuddy cabin style vessel carrying eight aliens approximately seven miles south of Point Loma and at 7:27 p.m., crewmembers aboard the CGC Sea Otter and CGC David Duren interdicted an 18-foot cuddy cabin style vessel with 10 aliens on board approximately 10 miles west of Point Loma.
The aliens aboard the 25-foot cuddy cabin consisted of five adult males and three adult females all claiming Mexican nationality.
The aliens aboard the 18-foot cuddy cabin consisted of one female adult claiming South Korean nationality, four male and two female adults claiming Mexican nationality and three additional males with no identification.
All 18 aliens were taken into custody by the Coast Guard and transferred to U.S. Border Patrol personnel.
