SAN DIEGO — Coast Guard members interdicted three aliens aboard a personal watercraft approximately 11 miles offshore from Mission Bay.

At approximately 11:30 p.m. last evening, Joint Harbor Operations Center detected two personal watercrafts heading north toward Point Loma.

Maritime Safety and Security Team (MSST) San Francisco and Station San Diego were notified and launched their small boat teams.

All three aliens were taken into custody: one adult male claiming Mexican nationality and one adult male and one female both claiming Vietnamese nationality.

The aliens were transferred from the MSST San Francisco crew to the Imperial Beach Border Patrol.

A second personal watercraft fled south of the maritime boundary line into Mexican waters.
