HONOLULU – Coast Guard, partners rescued a 34-year-old woman in the water offshore Kauai, Hawaii, Sunday.
Coast Guard Sector Honolulu watchstanders received notification from Kauai County Dispatch personnel at 11:48 a.m. Sunday, that a 34-year-old woman was in distress while swimming 500-yards offshore in Kalapaki Bay, Kauai.
Watchstanders coordinated the launch of a 45-ft Response Boat-medium boatcrew from Coast Guard Station Kauai to assist.
Two members from Kauai Fire Department arrived on-scene on paddleboards at the same time as the boatcrew from Station Kauai, locating the woman in the water. The boatcrew recovered the woman from the water as well as the two Kauai Fire Department members, who were assisting her, then transited back to the Coast Guard station.
The woman was transferred to local emergency medical services and is reportedly in stable condition.
