HONOLULU — The Coast Guard will establish Hawaii’s first Coast Guard Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps unit during a commissioning ceremony at Kalani High School in Honolulu Thursday.
Media members are invited to attend the ceremony and interview Coast Guard members and Kalani High School representatives about the JROTC unit.
Kalani High School’s Coast Guard JROTC unit is the 14th in the nation and has over 20 cadets enrolled in the inaugural semester.
Rear Adm. Sean Regan, commander of the Coast Guard’s Fourteenth District, is scheduled to speak at the ceremony along with other Coast Guard, Kalani High School and community leaders.
