PORTSMOUTH, Va. — The Coast Guard hosted the annual Fifth Coast Guard District Buoy Tender Round-Up, Wednesday, at Coast Guard Base Portsmouth, Virginia.

The Buoy Tender Round-up (BTR), a week-long event, offers participants an opportunity to receive specialized training, engage in discussions to enhance operations, test their seamanship skills and build camaraderie between crews. The Buoy Tender Olympics is as a friendly competition held between Coast Guard Buoy Tender crews during the BTR, which includes a chain pull, spin and hook, tug-o-war, survival-suit swim, and heat-and-beat.
