NEW ORLEANS — The Coast Guard and local partner agencies are searching for a 66-year-old man Thursday near Lake Chien, Louisiana.
Sector New Orleans watch standers received a report at 8:40 p.m. Wednesday from the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office of an overdue boater with his approximate last known GPS location.
Watch standers coordinated the launch of a Coast Guard Station Grand Isle 27-foot Response Boat-Medium boat crew, an Air Station New Orleans MH-60 Jayhawk aircrew and an Aviation Training Center Mobile HC-144 Ocean Sentry aircrew.
A good Samaritan arrived on-scene and located the vessel with no one on board.
U.S. Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans aircrews, Station Grand Isle boat crews, Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office, Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, and good samaritans continue to search for the missing man.
