Video Available: Coast Guard medevacs 36-year-old from jetties in Galveston, Texas

HOUSTON — The Coast Guard medevaced a 36-year-old female from the Galveston Jetty in Galveston, Texas, Monday.

Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders received a medevac request at 3:49 p.m. from Galveston Emergency Medical Services stating a 36-year-old female sustained an injury to her leg. The duty flight surgeon was consulted and recommended a medevac.

Watchstanders coordinated the launch of a Coast Guard Air Station Houston MH-65 Dolphin helicopter air crew to conduct the medevac.

The helicopter crew arrived on scene, hoisted the passenger and transported her to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in stable condition.
