CORAM, NY — The Coast Guard is scheduled to commission Marine Safety Unit (MSU) Coram Friday at 10:00 a.m. in Coram.
This event marks a significant transition from Marine Safety Detachments (MSDs) to MSUs, aimed at enhancing command and control capabilities for better maritime safety operations. Coram is one of 18 MSDs selected nationwide to be converted to an MSU.
