MEDIA ADVISORY: Coast Guard establishes Area Command Post in response to Hurricane Debby

MIAMI — The Seventh Coast Guard District established an Area Command Post in response to Hurricane Debby, Monday, at Coast Guard Air Station Miami in Opa Locka.

Debby made landfall near Steinhatchee, Florida as a category one hurricane before weakening to a tropical storm and is expected to bring heavy rainfall resulting in major flooding in the southeastern United States. Refer to the National Hurricane Center website and National Weather Service reports for the most updated storm developments and forecasted impacts.
