Coast Guard rescues 2 children, 2 adults after boat capsizes off Galveston, Texas

HOUSTON — The Coast Guard rescued two children and two adults from the water off Galveston, Texas, Thursday.

Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders received a report from Towboat U.S. at 6:20 p.m. stating a vessel capsized with two adults and two children aboard.

Watchstanders issued an urgent marine information broadcast and directed the launch of a Coast Guard Station Galveston 29-foot Response Boat–Small crew to respond.

The RB–S crew arrived on scene and sighted the people hanging onto the capsized vessel, the two children were wearing life jackets, the two adults were not. The boat crew approached, embarked the boaters, and safely transferred them to Galveston Bait and Tackle.

There were no reported injuries.
