CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Coast Guard medevaced an 84-year-old man who appeared to be suffering from weather exposure approximately 38 miles south of Port O’Connor, Thursday.
Coast Guard Sector Corpus Christi watchstanders received a Mayday call at 11:17 p.m. from someone aboard the boat.
Watchstanders issued an urgent marine information broadcast, diverted an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Corpus Christi, and directed the launch of a 45-foot Response Boat–Medium (RB-M) crew from Coast Guard Station Port O’Connor.
The RB-M crew arrived on scene, embarked the boater, and transported him to Clarks Boat Ramp where he was transferred to the care of emergency medical services personnel.
