SAN FRANCISCO — Coast Guard Station Golden Gate and the Coast Guard Auxiliary are scheduled to hold a free, public Water Safety Fair at Station Golden Gate at 10 a.m., Saturday.

The event, which kicks off National Safe Boating Week, will give the public and the media the opportunity to meet local first responders and learn about boating safety through demonstrations and discussions. The event will include displays, rescue boat tours and information about boating safety, radio communications and paddlecraft safety.

Attendees can expect educational workshops, live demonstrations by Coast Guard Air Station San Francsico, and engaging in hands-on activities.

“Station Golden Gate is thrilled to host the upcoming Coast Guard water safety fair, where we’ll be partnering with local agencies to promote water safety awareness,” said Petty Officer 1st Class Charles Baldwin, a boatswain's mate assigned to Station Golden Gate. “Our collaborative goal is to reduce water related accidents and save lives within our community.”

The event is free and open to the public. Parking is free.
