Coast Guard Searching for Missing Fisherman off Holland, Mich.

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. — The Coast Guard is searching for a missing fisherman, 61-year-old
David Split, who was reported missing in Lake Michigan Tuesday off Holland, Mich.

Crews from Coast Guard Sector Lake Michigan are actively searching with aircraft and vessels,
and anyone who has information is asked to call 414-747-7182.

At 8:10 p.m. Eastern time, watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Lake Michigan received
notification that Split, 61, was overdue. He was last seen leaving Spring Lake in a 29-foot Blue
Sea Sundancer, named A & A. He is known to fish near the mouth of the Grand
River and slightly offshore. His last reported location was six miles off Holland, Mich.

Coast Guard vessels and aircraft are actively searching the area at this time, along with partner
agencies from Ottawa County and Muskegon Police Department.
