MEDIA ADVISORY: Coast Guard Arctic icebreaker moors in Kodiak, will host interviews

WHO: Capt. Michele Schallip, Coast Guard Cutter Healy (WAGB 20) commanding officer, and Igor Polyakov, a Nansen and Amundsen Basins Observational System (NABOS) scientist.

WHAT: Schallip will be available to discuss the Healy's capabilities, and Polyakov will be able to discuss the upcoming mission conducting oceanographic research in the Arctic Ocean in partnership with the National Science Foundation.

WHEN: Thursday, August 24, at 3 p.m.

WHERE: Pier 2, Kodiak, AK 99615 or arrangements can be made for alternate location

*Closed-toed shoes are required when aboard
