WHAT: 17th Coast Guard District personnel are scheduled to host a Buoy Tender Olympics in support of the 2023 Buoy Tender Round-up

WHEN: August 16, 2023, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

WHERE: Coast Guard Station Juneau, 345 Egan Drive, Juneau, Alaska

JUNEAU, Alaska – The 17th District Annual Buoy Tender Round-up (BTR) is a week-long event that gives the participants an opportunity to receive specialized training, provide discussions to enhance operations, and test their seamanship skills.

The Buoy Tender Olympics take place on the third day of BTR and consist of several events designed to test the participant’s seamanship, build comradery, and strengthen relationships among the crews and our partners.

The events include a chain pull, line toss, boom spot, Tug-O-War, and the heat-and-beat.
