The crew of Coast Guard Cutter Cypress is scheduled to receive a new commanding officer Thursday at 10 a.m. during a change-of-command ceremony at Coast Guard Base Kodiak.

WHAT: A change-of command ceremony where Cmdr. Daniel Davis will be relieved by Lt. Cmdr. James Toohey.

Interested media must respond no later than noon, August 2, 2023, via email to D17-DG-PublicAffairs@uscg.mil to ensure credentialing and access to Base Kodiak. There will be no last-minute exceptions or substitutions for media personnel the day of the ceremony. Media must arrive between 9:00 and 9:30am on the day of the event. A valid state or federal-government issued photo ID must be presented for all individuals to obtain visitor access to the campus. Additional information regarding campus access will be provided with attendance confirmation.
