Coast Guard to hold press briefing for missing submersible 900 miles east of Cape Cod

Who: Rear Adm. John Mauger, commander of the First Coast Guard District

What: The Coast Guard is scheduled to hold a press briefing at 4:30 p.m. involving the search efforts for five persons aboard a missing submersible approximately 900 miles of Cape Cod.

When: 4:30 p.m. Attending media is requested to arrive by 4:15 to set up.

Where: 408 Atlantic Ave, Boston, MA 02110. News media must be credentialed to be allowed access to the briefing.

 

BOSTON—The Coast Guard is searching for five persons after the Canadian research vessel Polar Prince lost contact with their submersible during a dive, approximately 900 miles east of Cape Cod, Sunday morning.

A Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City, North Carolina, C-130 Hercules aircraft, as well as a Canadian P8 aircraft equipped with underwater sonar capability, are currently searching for the missing submersible.
