Media Advisory: Coast Guard District Seven’s crew to host change of command ceremony

Coast Guard Seventh District

MIAMI — The crew of Coast Guard District Seven is scheduled to conduct a change of command ceremony, Friday, at Coast Guard Air Station Miami.

Who: Rear Adm. Brendan C. McPherson is scheduled to transfer command of Coast Guard District Seven to Rear Adm. Douglas M. Schofield.

What: The change of command ceremony marks a transfer of total responsibility and authority from one individual to another. It is a time-honored tradition, conducted before the assembled crew, as well as honored guests and dignitaries to formally demonstrate the continuity of the authority within a command.

When: June 9, 2023, at 10 a.m.
