Advisory: Coast Guard to hold Base Kodiak change-of-command ceremony

KODIAK, Alaska – Capt. Edward Hernaez is scheduled to be relieved as Coast Guard Base Kodiak’s commander by Capt. Jeremey Hall in a change-of-command ceremony at Base Kodiak June 6th. 

WHAT: Base Kodiak change-of-command ceremony 

WHEN: Tuesday, June 6, 2022 at 10 a.m. 

WHERE: U.S. Coast Guard Base Kodiak, 5th St, Kodiak Station, AK 99619 

Interested media must respond no later than noon, June 5, 2022, via email to D17-DG-PublicAffairs@uscg.mil to ensure credentialing and access to the headquarters campus. There will be no last-minute exceptions or substitutions for media personnel the day of the ceremony. Media must arrive between 9:00 and 9:30 a.m. on the day of the event. A valid state or federal-government issued photo ID must be presented for all individuals to obtain visitor access to the campus. Additional information regarding campus access will be provided with attendance confirmation. 

All email requests for media credentials must include: 

  • Contact information 

  • Media affiliation (i.e. newspaper, TV station)
