SAN PEDRO, Calif. — U.S. Coast Guard cutters Forrest Rednour and Blackfin have returned to their homeports after a 49-day deployment in Central America, where they played a crucial role in multiple operations.

Coast Guard, good Samaritan boater rescues 6 persons and one dog in Lake Tahoe

The Coast Guard and a good Samaritan boater rescued six persons and a dog from Lake Tahoe near Carnelian Bay, Sunday. The good Samaritan boater rescued four persons and the dog, while a Coast Guard crew aboard a 29-foot Response Boat-small from Station Lake Tahoe rescued two persons.

Coast Guard Barque Eagle to visit San Juan, Puerto Rico for public tours

The U.S. Coast Guard Barque Eagle (WIX 327) is scheduled to arrive in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Friday, June 14th, at 10 a.m., and will be open for free public tours through Sunday. The Eagle is scheduled to moor at Pier 3 in Old San Juan, where it will begin hosting public tours in the afternoon. “We are thrilled for Eagle’s visit to San Juan, Puerto Rico, and look forward to people seeing the ship’s arrival in San Juan Harbor,” said Capt. Jessica Rozzi-Ochs Coast Guard Barque Eagle’s commanding officer. “We are proud to continue our long-standing tradition of sharing the history and heritage of Eagle and the Coast Guard with the people of Puerto Rico.”

MEDIA AVAILABILITY: US Coast Guard Cutter Calhoun to hold change-of-command ceremony

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. — U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Calhoun (WMSL 759) is scheduled to hold a change-of-command ceremony, Tuesday, at 10 a.m. in North Charleston.  During the ceremony, Capt. Matthew Hammond will relieve Capt. Timothy Sommella as commanding officer of Calhoun. U.S. Coast Guard Atlantic Area Commander, Vice Adm. Nathan Moore, will preside over the ceremony.

U.S., Japan, and Korea Coast Guards Conduct Trilateral Operations

MAIZURU, Japan - U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Waesche (WMSL 751) departed Maizuru, Japan, June 6, following several engagements with the Japan Coast Guard, Republic of Korea Coast Guard and multiple Japanese dignitaries. Once underway, the Waesche, the Japan Coast Guard vessel Wakasa (PL 93), and the Republic of Korea Coast Guard patrol vessel Taepyongyang (KCG 3016) conducted a joint search and rescue exercise at sea.

US Coast Guard Cutter Resolute returns home from Caribbean patrol; interdicts four suspected smugglers, 3,736 pounds of illicit drugs

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The crew of U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Resolute (WMEC 620) returned to their homeport in St. Petersburg, Saturday, following a 60-day patrol of the Caribbean, in support of Homeland Security Task Force – Southeast’s Operation Vigilant Sentry and Joint Interagency Task Force-South's counterdrug mission. While deployed within the Coast Guard’s Seventh District area of operations, and off the southwest coast of Haiti, the Resolute crew, together with the Coast Guard Cutter Mohawk (WMEC 913), interdicted one go-fast vessel, apprehended four suspected smugglers and seized 3,736 pounds of marijuana worth more than $3.5 million.

SEATTLE – The Coast Guard has ended its search for the pilot involved in the plane crash near Jones Island. The pilot’s body was recovered by Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife dive team.

Coast Guard offloads $7.4 million in seized cocaine, transfers custody of 9 smugglers to DEA in San Juan, Puerto Rico

The crew of Coast Guard Cutter Charles David Jr. offloaded and transferred custody of 245 kilograms of cocaine and nine suspected smugglers to Drug Enforcement Administration authorities at Coast Guard Base San Juan, Puerto Rico, Friday. The seized contraband is estimated to have a wholesale value of $7.4 million dollars, while the interdiction and seizure is the result of multi-agency efforts involving Coast Guard’s Western Hemisphere Strategy, the Caribbean Corridor Strike Force Initiative and Operation Unified Resolve. The Drug Enforcement Administration is leading the investigation in this case.

Coast Guard, Dutch suspend search for missing persons following counter drug mission in Caribbean Sea

The U.S. Coast Guard, Royal Netherlands Navy and Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard suspended a search for three suspected smugglers who went overboard during pursuit of a non-compliant vessel suspected of smuggling illicit narcotics in the Caribbean Sea, June 4, 2024.
