U.S. Coast Guard Academy Releases Fall Regimental Review Schedule

NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Coast Guard Academy is scheduled to hold six Regimental Reviews during the fall semester on the Washington Parade Field.

The Coast Guard reminds mariners and residents of Georgia and South Carolina to remain vigilant as Tropical Storm Idalia continues to the eastern seaboard, Wednesday.

Idalia was downgraded from a Hurricane to a Tropical Storm as it crossed the Florida Peninsula into Georgia.

The extent of damage to impacted areas is still being assessed by federal, state and local emergency responders. The Seventh Coast Guard District is staged and prepared to deploy rescue crews to assist those in distress as soon as safely possible.

Coast Guard rescues 3 from capsized vessel near Saxon Harbor, Wisconsin

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. ⎯ The Coast Guard rescued three people from the water Tuesday, after their vessel capsized 4 nautical miles offshore near Saxon Harbor, Wisconsin.

Coast Guard repatriates 29 migrants to Dominican Republic, following vessel interdiction in the Mona Passage

The crew of Coast Guard Cutter Donald Horsley crew repatriated 29 migrants to Dominican Republic, Monday, following the interdiction of an overloaded vessel in Mona Passage waters off the west coast of Puerto Rico. Five Dominican men interdicted in this voyage are facing federal prosecution at the U.S. District Court in Puerto Rico on a range of charges including attempted illegal re-entry into the United States under 8 U.S.C. 1326(b); improper entry by a non-U.S. citizen under 8 U.S.C 1325; and bringing in and harboring non-U.S. citizens under 8 U.S.C 1324.
