U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Vigilant returns from Caribbean patrol after interdicting 5,600 pounds of illicit drugs
CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – The crew of the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Vigilant (WMEC 617) returned home to Cape Canaveral, Tuesday, following a 29-day patrol in the Central Caribbean and Florida Straits.

Coast Guard crews repatriated 14 migrants to Dominican Republic, Monday, following the interdiction of a grossly overloaded makeshift vessel in Mona Passage waters off the west coast of Puerto Rico. One other Dominican man interdicted in the group remains in federal custody and is facing federal prosecution at the U.S. District Court in Puerto Rico on a charge of attempted illegal re-entry into the United States under 8 U.S.C. 1326.

U.S. Coast Guard Forces Micronesia/Sector Guam ensures maritime safety and environmental stewardship with notable tank vessel exam
SANTA RITA, Guam – Marine inspectors from the U.S. Coast Guard Forces Micronesia/Sector Guam, under the authority of the Captain of the Port Guam, conducted a Certificate of Compliance (COC) examination and Port State Control inspection on the tank vessel Cindy Glory Sept. 22, 2023. This inspection marked a significant milestone as it was the vessel's first COC and first time in U.S. waters.
