Welcome to the Coast Guard's 8th District, located in New Orleans, La.

The Coast Guard’s 8th District Headquarters in New Orleans is responsible for Coast Guard activities in 26 states. A majority of our activity is from our coastline states including Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and the panhandle of Florida. There are two offices responsible for media relations here. @USCG #Update The Coast Guard has suspended its search for the missing shrimper. Coast Guard air and boat crews searched for 37 hours, covering 1,032 sq nautical miles.

The Coast Guard is searching for a 75-year-old male 5 miles offshore of Biloxi, MS, after a fishing vessel was found with nobody on board. Crews from @USCG Sta. Gulfport, USCGC Stingray, and USCG Air Sta. New Orleans remain searching alongside Mississippi DMR.

Last night, a #USCG Air Station New Orleans helicopter crew medevaced a 19-year-old man from the Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit Sevan Louisiana, approximately 81 miles southwest of Port Fourchon, Louisiana. He was taken to University Medical Center New Orleans in stable condition
