Call for Experts – National Academies of Science Study – Impacts on Shipping and Commercial, Tribal, and Recreational Fisheries from Development of Renewable Energy on the West Coast

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine is seeking suggestions for experts to participate in a new study to understand potential impacts of offshore renewable energy development on maritime traffic and fisheries (commercial, recreational, and Tribal) on the west coast in federal and state waters.

Data availability in support of Navigation Safety Risk Assessments for Offshore Renewable Energy Installations.

The Coast Guard established a Geographic Information System (GIS) layer for OREI developers to access Coast Guard case data required to be analyzed under NVIC 02-23. This data is required to complete a Navigation Safety Risk Assessment as part of the Construction and Operations Plan for Offshore renewable Energy Installations, required by the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management.

Notice of public meeting: IMO Sub-Committee on Ship Systems and Equipment

The Department of State will conduct a public meeting at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2023, by way of teleconference. The primary purpose of the meeting is to prepare for the 10th session of the International Maritime Organization's (IMO) Subcommittee on Ship Systems and Equipment (SSE 10) to be held at the IMO Headquarters in London, United Kingdom from Monday, March 4 to Friday, March 8, 2024.
