The Coast Guard Cutter Alert, a 210-foot Medium Endurance Cutter homeported in Astoria, Ore., moored up at the 17th Street Pier in Astoria, Nov. 16, 2018. The cutter Alert is one of twelve medium endurance cutters in the Coast Guard's fleet, which are scheduled to be replaced by the Offshore Patrol Cutter (OPC), with construction of the first vessel to begin in 2018 and completed in 2021.
