Coast Guard repatriates 12 migrants to Dominican Republic, following unlawful migration vessel interdiction off Puerto Rico
The Coast Guard Cutter repatriated 12 migrants to the Dominican Republic between Oct. 17 and Oct. 18, 2024, following the interdiction of an irregular, unlawful maritime migration voyage near Puerto Rico, Oct. 16, 2024. Migrants who are interdicted at sea or apprehended ashore will not be allowed to stay in the United States or a U.S. territory. Furthermore, anyone who arrives unlawfully may be declared ineligible for legal immigration parole options and be repatriated to their country of origin or returned to the country of departure.
