The crew of the USCGC Frederick Hatch (WPC 1143) observes the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Tinian on July 24, 2024. On 24 July 1944, the U.S. Coast Guard supported the landing of roughly 15,600 men of the 2nd and 4th Marine Divisions on the Island of Tinian to retake it from the Imperial Japanese Forces.
