U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Active returns home from Eastern Pacific patrol
USCGC Active (WMEC 618) crewmembers conduct damage control drills while underway off the coast of Washington as the crew prepares for their patrol, Mar. 15, 2024. Active, a 57-year-old medium endurance cutter, is homeported in Port Angeles and falls under the operational command of the Coast Guard Pacific Area Commander, playing a critical role in conducting search and rescue, counter-narcotics law enforcement, living marine resource protection, and homeland defense operations from the northernmost part of the contiguous United States to the equator.
